The Butte Public School was a NDE state accredited K-12 system that was build in 1911, renovated in 1968, with a major addition in 1996.  This addition provides a Distance Learning classroom and Internet connection to the world of education.  In 2001, Butte Public School unified with the Spencer-Naper Public School to form the West Boyd Unified School District. The West Boyd K-4 elementary site is located in Butte.  The West Boyd 5-12 site is located in Spencer.

Our school system is very proud of the opportunities we provide our students.  Our students upon graduation perform very well in 4-year or 2-year colleges and in the work place.  We offer a diverse curriculum and pride ourselves on the high percentage of students participating in inter and extracurricular activities. Our students represent our school very well at local, district, and state level competition.
